What we cover

Coverage Built for York Homeowners

Every home is different. Our policies are designed to protect what matters most — your structure, your belongings, your family, and your peace of mind.

Dwelling Protection

Dwelling Protection

Your home's structure, covered.

Dwelling protection covers the physical structure of your home — walls, roof, floors, ceilings, built-in appliances, and attached structures like garages. If your home is damaged by a covered event, we help pay to repair or rebuild it.

What's covered:

  • Fire and smoke damage
  • Wind, hail, and storm damage
  • Lightning strikes
  • Vandalism and theft
  • Falling objects
  • Weight of ice or snow
Note: Flood and earthquake damage require separate policies. Ask your local York agent about add-on options.
Personal Property

Personal Property

Your belongings, wherever they go.

Personal property coverage protects the things inside your home — furniture, electronics, clothing, appliances, and more. Coverage even extends to belongings stolen from your car or while you're traveling.

What's covered:

  • Furniture and appliances
  • Electronics and devices
  • Clothing and jewelry
  • Sports and hobby equipment
  • Items stolen from your vehicle
  • Belongings damaged while traveling
Note: High-value items like jewelry or art may require a scheduled personal property endorsement. Talk to your agent.
Liability Coverage

Liability Coverage

Protection if someone gets hurt.

Liability coverage protects you if someone is injured on your property or if you accidentally damage someone else's property. It covers legal fees, medical bills, and settlement costs so you're not left exposed.

What's covered:

  • Injuries to guests on your property
  • Dog bite incidents
  • Accidental damage to neighbor's property
  • Legal defense costs
  • Medical payments to others
  • Settlements and judgments
Note: Standard policies include $100,000 in liability. Higher limits are available — ask your York agent about umbrella policies.
Additional Living Expenses

Additional Living Expenses

A place to stay while we fix yours.

If a covered loss makes your home temporarily uninhabitable, additional living expenses (ALE) coverage pays for your hotel stays, restaurant meals, laundry, and other costs above your normal living expenses while repairs are underway.

What's covered:

  • Hotel and temporary housing costs
  • Restaurant meals above normal food costs
  • Laundry and dry cleaning
  • Pet boarding fees
  • Storage unit rental
  • Extra transportation costs
Note: ALE coverage typically lasts up to 12–24 months or until your home is repaired, whichever comes first.
